Observation and Recreation Project

The brief for this project was to take a section  of The Waverley Building, and to recreate it adding some historical context. We chose to recreate the front entrance steps after seeing a photograph of 1950’s Art students stood smoking in this section of the building. We also felt that the section would allow us to try different construction and scenic painting techniques. In the last two images you can see how we explored lighting the piece. Taking away the original context we decide to try to create the illusion of a section of a secret garden. This was simply to develop our lighting skills.
